What Is the MISSION statement of YOUR LIFE?

What Is the purpose you have chosen for your life?  Have you ever thought about it?
How many people take time to consider what they want to accomplish in their lives and write it down into a small paragraph- defining what you want.

I have been learning about the business world and the importance establishing a  Mission statement todefine the purpose of your business, and help guide you in the steps for going in the direction you want to go.

It is like going on vacation and picking a destination you want to go to, and having an idea of the activities you want to do while on vacation.  If you want to relax and melt in the sun  on a beach- then you are not going to choose Greenland  or  a prarie town as a destination.  Rather you are most likely going to look at towns or cities situated on a lake or by the sea. Does that make sense?  You could go to the Sahara- but you will be missing the Beach factor.
So how do you get there?  You  do a little research, to find the destination that suits what you want. You begin to plan to be able to budget for it, and find out what activities there are for you to do, plan for meals, room details  and anything else YOU want to experience.
Then you look at methods of transportation to get you to this destination. There are always different ways to get you there- and you choose how quickly you get there or if you take a more scenic route to this destination. Ultimately the choice is in your hands and the degree of planning that you put into getting there.
Would you just take a chance on a vacation time- meant to relax and revive you- and just "wing it" without a plan in place to make sure things go smoothly? Of Course not. You don't need stress on a vacation- it is meant to help you make the most out of the priceless time set aside to relax.

When it comes to your Life, why not define what you want out of life- and set a mission to guide you every step of the way? Having a MISSION statement and a Vision statement for your life will help keep you focused in making you life align with what you want to accomplish.  Why would you just meander through life without having a direction or purpose in life?  Everyone wants to feel they have a purpose in life- so make the plan to ensure there is puropose in your life.

So,.. what is a Mission Statement- and What is a Vision Statement??

A Mission statement;  A paragraph that concisely outline the objectives and purpose of an organization, to coninuously inspire and serve as a measure of progress along the way, to ensure you keep on track toward your goal.

A VISION Statement: Outlines the Values that will be guiding the organization ( or you), in the quest to acheive the purpose and goals.  People usually identify and are attracted to the values of an organization that serve to inspire and guide all involved to understand what you are about- and ensure that your decisions keep you aligned with your VALUES .

Creating the mission and vision statement for your life and reading it everyday will help you remind yourself every day what you want to acheive and how you want to acheive it, and helpto eliminate getting distracted from creating the life you want.  Even when life throws distractions in your path, this helps you stay inspired and keep your focus on what you want ot acheive, and even when the events in life cause detours, you will be able to adjust and plan new avenues of arriving to your goals while keeping in alignment with your Values.

So there will be a need to revisit your statements every year to hone, clarify and refine it to better reflect the purpose, goals and values.
WHY would you do a Mission statement?
Well, it is pretty simple.  This is something that will help you at every stage in your life, to remind and inspire you on what you what to do and what you are going to stand for. It will inspire you and remind you every step of the way that you deserve to have what you want in life, and reach your goals and your dreams. There may be people in life that will want to help you on the path to your dreams and goals, and others may try to sabotage you.   Those are not people you want to allow to give you advice or take directions from. That is what your Mission statement is for.
So , when life throws curve balls at you, or people seem to just try to crush your aspirations, read this and remind yourself that you are the one that decides what your life is going to be about. NO ONE  ELSE.  Write it out and Own it.

So,..... how do you creat a Mission statement or a vision statement?
Here is a link to help guide you to write a Mission statement and a vision statement of your Own....

Do this for yourself, so that you can always have something to inspire you and remind you what you want your life to be about. Write it out, and plan a little bit how you might be able to get there.
Here is to making life what you want to make it- and reminding yourself every step of the way what you are working toward.  And GO GET IT!

Hugs!!

Seeing Past the challenge- to the CORE of the lesson

This is tough.  I am at a point where I am faced with challenges that are coming at me from several aspects of my life.
I take a breath.  It sometimes seems overwhelming. I wonder how I am going to get past this, overcome and master these challenges.
I don't always know what I am doing, and I write this out- to put my thoughts on paper, and in order to connect with that part of me that has the answers.

Everyday, I have to ask myself, How do I get through this? what steps do I need to take to find the solution? I don't always get the answers in that moment, and quite honestly I sometimes get frustrated in my impatience.

I keep moving ahead, facing the challenges, and to be completely honest, feeling ill-equiped to face them. I remind myself that  everyone faces challenges with the same feeling of being ill equiped, and until they learn to master them through experience, only then can they gain the confidence to face more and more challenges.

One of the hardest things to do has been to look for the positive lesson in the challenges I face, and learn to consciously
choose to act in a different way than I am used to.
This is not easy. being constantly aware can be exhausting. It would be so much easier if I didnt have to constantly choose, and I could just be on automatic pilot- and  do and think without thinking.

That is where the big lesson is. Why?  because when we are on "automatic pilot" it is our fears and insecurities (or Ego) that rules and controls our lives and directs us to act and behave in certain ways.  We  only react to situations- instead of Acting consciously.
When you are aware, and make choices in the actions you take, you are the one in control.  The reason it is so hard at first is because we are fighting against the "automatic pilot" part of ourselves.  It is when we stop doing things out of habit- that is when we start to grow and take control.
Exercising your personal choice, makes you stronger, in character; discipline; responsibility and self control.
You begin to strengthen your character, because you are making conscious choices,  and in choosing the best way to act to get the results you want- you begin to define who you are and act in line with the type of person you want to be- as well it builds your confidence. This is how you start to build character.
When you realize that you are in control of  how you act- and in turn it means you are in control of how things turn out- you begin to understand that you are responsible for the situation you find yourself in. Ultimately you begin to see that the choices you make- is your consent to accept whatever  result or consequences that comes with that choice. This is how your begin to learn responsibility.

The Discipline comes when you start to focus on making your choices count in your life. You begin to practice becoming aware of and knowing the right moments to change your behaviour- by choosing a new way to act or speak that is in line with the outcome you want.
When you learn to discipline yourself, you gain the self control to handle any challenge or situation that comes at you, and backed with the confidence you have gained from the process, and the persistence to get to where you want to go.

The struggle is tough, and can sometimes stretch you beyond the limits of what you thought you could endure- and in doing so you learn something important about your strength and  the eternal part of yourself.  We never know what we are capable of until we are pushed past our comfort zone.

This is why we should strive to do better every day- and make the conscious choices that take you CLOSER not farther from what you want to acheive in your life.
I speak to you honestly, I share the feelings and thoughts that find their way into my mind- because it is in writing it out that I am able to find the answers I seek- and in doing so I can also help anyone else that needs to find similar answers too.  This is how I choose to connect.

Every challenge and situation is an opportunity to learn something about ourselves and an opportunity to Grow. So when opportunity comes knocking- are you going to take it>?
I hope I have helped.
